When people want to convey their emotions, a chemical called Acetylcholine is released by the nerves. This chemical attaches to receptors on facial muscle cells. Receptors stimulated by acetylcholine cause muscle contraction and facial expressions. Botox blocks the nerve endings by preventing the release of acetylcholine by the nerves, weakens the muscles, inhibits impulses and contraction. Since it is a muscle relaxant with a long-lasting effect, it helps to reduce wrinkles and lines on the skin surface, and to prevent / delay new wrinkles and lines.
