DERMAL FILLER
APPLICATION IN TURKEY

Dermal filler applications are one of the most used methods in the field of Medical Aesthetics. Hyaluronic acid is the most used filler in filling applications. As our skin ages, the amount of collagen, elastin tissue and hyaluronic acid decreases. Hyaluronic acid, which is decreasing in filling applications, is injected into the problematic areas under the skin with the help of small needles. Hyaluronic acid in gel consistency increases the water holding capacity of the skin and provides density.

WHAT IS DERMAL FILLER ?

Dermal filler is used for the following purposes;

  • Filling fine and deep wrinkles on the face,

  • Filling the lips and their contour,

  • Giving volume to the cheeks, chin, eye area and temples,

  • Removal of deep scars caused by acne or other reasons

The face is divided into 3 regions in terms of filling applications. The first region includes the forehead and the area around the eyes, the second region includes the nose, cheeks and under the eyes, and the third region includes the mouth and chin region.

When evaluating the face, it is necessary to look both from the front and from the side profile. The third, that is, the lower part of the face, is of great importance in the proportion of the face. In people with small jawbones and back, both the jowl and cheek appearance come to the fore.

In people with jaw retardation, the lower lip is further back than the upper lip. The nose looks bigger. The jowl area is more prominent as if there is excess fat. In this case, special fillings to be applied to the chin, i.e. chin fillings, also known as jawline fillings, reduce or eliminate this appearance by making the chin contour clear and bringing the chin forward. The jowl area, which seems to merge with the cheek, is separated from each other by the applied chin filler.

The face looks as if it is sagging in people with chin recession. This condition increases with age. The sagging appearance will be reduced with the fillings to be applied to the chin, that is, chin fillings, also known as jawline fillings. This practice is also called Liquid Lifting.

When the face is viewed in profile, a line is drawn from the nose to the chin to see if the chin proportion is sufficient. If the upper lip is 4 mm behind this line and 2 mm behind the lower lip, it means that there is no chin recession.

Facial fillers are used in removing settled skin wrinkles, giving volume to the face and reshaping, lip augmentation, as well as shaping the nose, raising scars and atrophic skin tissues.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF HYALURONIC ACID?

  • It helps to keep the skin smooth and supple.

  • It helps prevent acne scars.

  • It helps tissues repair and maintain their elasticity. Thanks to this feature, it prevents the aging of the skin.

  • It helps in the formation and maintenance of collagen fibers. Decreased collagen causes the skin to lose its elasticity.

  • It also helps fight skin inflammation and irritation.

  • As we age, the rate of cell mitosis decreases, so the cellular renewal and repair process slows down. The presence of hyaluronic acid helps in reversing the condition.

MATERIALS USED IN DERMAL FILLER

Permanence varies according to the content of facial fillers and the density of the cross-links. Fillers containing hyaluronic acid last between 6 months and 1.5 years.

Hyaluronic acid is an essential intermediate that forms collagen in dermis tissue. It can bind water up to 1000 times its volume. Facial fillers containing hyaluronic acid do not displace or slide in the area where they are injected. Since they do not cause allergic reactions, they are often used to increase the volume of soft tissue. Fillers can be easily applied with local anesthesia through needles and cannulas.

Most of the time, cheap facial fillers without careful laboratory tests can cause an allergic reaction. These types of products also have a high risk of infection. Therefore, cheap facial fillers should be avoided.

The free hyaluronic acid in the facial fillers used to give volume to the face, while providing moisture to the skin, also provides an increase in collagen. Thanks to their fluidity, these facial fillers are easily injected under the skin and provide a natural appearance. They have been proven to be safe in tests.

Using microcannulas, the patient can be applied without bruising and with minimal pain. They create a natural look as they are more compatible with the face than thick fillings.

These substances can be easily applied to the chin oval, cheek cavities, nasolabial sulci and hands that require volume, including the forehead and eye area with fine lines. The amount of substance used in the face filling application will decrease in the following sessions.

Facial fillers containing calcium hydroxyapatite crystal are also used for filling deep grooves on the face and shaping the face. This is an allergy-free substance that stimulates collagen. Its permanence is 1-1.5 years.

Things to Know About Face Filling Application

  • After the application of the facial filler, edema may occur on the face, which lasts for 2-7 days. This is due to the water holding properties of the fillers.

  • Care should be taken not to make excessive facial expressions on the day of the face filling application.

  • After the application of the facial filler material, the application area should not be touched with water and make-up should not be applied for approximately 4 hours.

  • After the application of the facial filler, bruises may occur in the applied area. However, these bruises disappear within a week.

  • Since facial fillers are affected by heat, places such as saunas and Turkish baths should be avoided.

  • Face filling is not permanent. The permanence period of the facial filler varies between 6-24 months, depending on the content of the filler.

NOSE FILLER

The working principle of fillers is to give volume to the injected area. If you want the nose to look small, unfortunately, it is very difficult for you to benefit from filling applications. On the contrary, it will cause an increase in volume in the nose. In addition, if you are planning an operation in the future, the nasal filling will cause difficulties in the operation to be performed with the fibrosis tissues formed under the skin, even if years pass. If nasal fillings are made under and above the arch in the presence of a small arch, it can be done to obtain a flatter nasal ridge. Or, provided that small amounts are applied to the tip of the nose, some elevation of the nose can be achieved. The nose is a very complex structure anatomically and is an organ through which the branches of the main vessels feeding the facial area pass. For this reason, an improperly made nasal filling can lead to serious complications. My personal opinion is that nasal filling should be done in limited cases, even if surgery is not planned in the future.

Local anesthesia is applied during the application. Filling material is given to the missing areas with small needles or cannulas. The process takes about 10-15 minutes. We can return to our daily life immediately after. However, a nasal bandage may be recommended for 48 hours. The duration of action is about 8-12 months.

NASOLABIAL FILLER

The nasolabial line/groove is the name given to the line/groove that starts from the wings on both sides of the nose and progresses to the corners of the mouth. This line, which is also seen in babies under normal conditions, becomes more pronounced due to aging. For this reason, nasolabial filling is often applied on this nasolabial area.

These deep lines seen in the nasolabial region create a tired and unhappy facial expression on the face of the individual. These lines are also called laugh lines. The reason for this is that the lines become more prominent during laughing.

Since the substance called hyaluronic acid used in the nasolabial filling process is found in the human body under normal conditions, it does not cause serious side effects on people. The resulting redness and swelling are caused by the injection during the application and disappear in a short time. Since the application of nasolabial filler does not have a restrictive effect on the mimic muscles, no mimic loss is encountered.

Before the nasolabial filling application is performed, the specialist provides short-term numbness in the area with numbing ointments or local anesthetic agents.

After numbness is achieved, the specialist makes injections into the area with injectors containing hyaluronic acid, and eliminates the groove in the area. The amount of hyaluronic acid filler to be given to the area during the application phase may vary depending on the depth of the groove. It takes 25-30 minutes to be applied by the person or persons who are experts in the application of nasolabial filling. In the first session, the entire nasolabial groove is not filled. If all of the filler is injected, the filler inside the groove will be felt and the person will feel uncomfortable. Therefore, in the first session, half of the filler to be applied is injected into the area. The remaining filler is injected into the area correctly after the area is checked and disinfected in the next session. After the application, the patient can easily return to his normal daily life.

Cosmetic products should not be used for the first 5-8 hours after the application. Heavy exercise should be avoided on the day of the application and the next day. At the same time, acidic product contact on the skin should be avoided for the first 24-36 hours of application. The skin should not be exposed to hot water, steam or spa-like applications for 10 days following the application.

The permanence period of the application can be seen within 3 days and continues for 9-18 months. Although the permanence period of hyaluronic acid applications differs from individual to individual, it is best seen for 9 months in the worst case.

CHEEKBONE AND CHEEK FILLER

Cheek filling, which makes facial defects look younger and more attractive, has become the most trendy aesthetic application of the last period.

Having a prominent cheekbone is considered one of the beauty criteria. Prominent and protruding cheekbones have an important function in making the face look younger, healthier and more tense. The cheekbone, which does not protrude in harmony with the face, causes the face to look sadder, tired, weaker and sunken.

Aesthetic problems in the cheekbones may occur as a result of sagging, downward displacement and flattening of the facial tissues due to congenital or aging loss of supporting tissue on the face.

Cheekbone filling is one of the filling procedures applied with hyaluronic acid and is one of the most preferred filling procedures among women. With the advancement of age, the collapses and sagging that may occur in the cheekbones and cheeks are eliminated by the filling process, and the person's face is restored to a proportional and youthful appearance.

Filling application, which is completed in an average of 1-2 hours, is within the non-surgical aesthetic applications. Since it is a type of acid naturally found in the body of the person, allergy testing is usually not performed and no allergy has been observed. Hyaluronic acid filling is a reliable procedure that has been approved by the FDA and has been used in the aesthetic field for many years.

Since it is made with an injection system, no incision is made and therefore does not pose a risk of infection. It provides an average of 6 months to 1 year usage advantage. It has been observed that it can be used up to 1.5 years depending on the skin structure. It can be done again after the effect of the application wears off. It is applied to the lower layers of the skin motionlessly for more defined cheekbones and cheeks.

JAWLINE FILLER & CHIN AESTHETIC

When we say chin, we think of the tip of the chin, but most of the time, we use the chin fillers to extend the chin a little more to the sides, to stretch the parts that hang from the cheek to the chin, called the jawline, and to complete the jaw line.

The chin plays a very important role in the profile image. If the chin is behind, we see the mid-face area where the nose is in the foreground, which is a situation that disrupts the aesthetic face perception. Hard fillings made to the chin tip make the chin appear slightly ahead.

Apart from this, we can shape the line from the chin tip to the chin corner with filler to create a more aesthetic jaw line. Filling the tiny wrinkles around the mouth or marionette lines that point down the corners of the mouth and cause a sad face.

UNDER EYE LIGHT FILLER

Not only women, but also men's under-eye bruises or collapsed under-eyes, sometimes called bags, cause aesthetic anxiety. There is a solution to this problem with the specially developed under-eye light filling technique. Thanks to this technique, it is possible to restructure the skin and people with swelling and bruise problems under the eyes in one go. In addition to these, it also provides a solution to age-related under-eye problems.

Especially when women reach their 30s, one out of every two women is afraid of eye circles. The reason for these under-eye bruises and bags is mostly based on genetics. Only sleeping position, alcohol and some allergic conditions trigger and increase it. When we look at our eye structure, the eyes have a structure that rotates very easily in all directions and they are surrounded by a special oil. In addition, their position is protected by a protection barrier called the orbital septum. The septum we mentioned loosens with genetics or advancing age and is pushed forward by the fat bag. As age progresses, there will be thinning in the bone structure of the face, and the bone normally moves backwards. This is why there is a gap under the eyes. In fact, the resulting space may appear deep due to shadows, albeit a little. My answer to those who say what is good for under-eye bags: These types of problems are seriously solved with under-eye light filling.

One point needs to be explained very well here. It should not mean that the light filling will solve all the problems that exist under the eyes. I think it is effective on most of the under-eye collapses and dark bruises and circles. However, I cannot say the same for under-eye bags. Because the solution for people over a certain age and with large bags is lower eyelid aesthetics. Light fill won't work. It works for people who are relatively young and have small bags, provided that they are done carefully. The best way to say this is to be examined by your doctor.

We can say that it is a filling method called hyaluronic gel, which is made specifically for the treatment of under-eye bruises, which we have just mentioned, and is actually produced by the body. There are two ingredients in this gel-based under-eye light filling material, which was developed for under-eye problems. Hyaluronic acid and poly vitamin complex. First, bruises and bags are treated with hyaluronic acid. Then, the cells are renewed for a long time using poly vitamins.

It differs from other filling techniques. With this technique, it is applied on the bone, not under the skin. While filling, light filling should be given slowly. The person does not feel any pain because an anesthetic substance is applied to the application area before the filling. In addition, since the gel contains an anesthetic substance, there is no pain after the application. Under-eye light filling can be applied not only to women but also to men. In fact, in recent years, as the concept of metrosexuality has started to settle in men, the number of men who have under-eye light filling has increased.

Since hyaluronic acid is used in this technique, long-lasting results are obtained. Since the under-eye light filling is made with hyaluronic acid, its effect lasts at least 1.5 years. Depending on personal factors, there are people whose influence remains even after 3 years. This time increases after each repetition of light filling application.

LIP FILLER

The method applied in order to plump and thicken their lips and the materials used in this process are called lip augmentation for people whose lips are congenitally thin or who become thinner as a result of aging and are unhappy with this thinness. The most used material is hyaluronic acid.

Lip augmentation is not done in the same standard places in everyone. For example, some people's upper lip folds are very vague. First, they are highlighted. In some people, the rim of the mouth is downward. It is supported. In some, the red part of the lip is unclear. It is mainly done in that area. By the way, age factor, colors and tastes are also taken into account.

The length of time the fillers stay in the body varies according to the brand, the thickness of the filler, and the rate at which your body dissolves it. A little bit remains during each application. Thus, the application time is extended. The application should generally be repeated every 8 to 12 months. Until a few years ago, permanent fillings were used. Today, these permanent fillings are largely abandoned. When there is a side effect or you regret having it done, it is very difficult to remove it with these fillings. Because these fillings often cause infections, allergies and deformities in the lips.

In lip applications, 0.5 to 2 ml is usually made. The required amount varies according to the length, thinness of the lip and whether it is done with both. If it is necessary to apply two tubes, it would be more appropriate and controlled to apply 2-session lip augmentation with an interval of 1 week.

Will it be obvious that I have lip filling done?

While some patients want it to be noticed that they have lip augmentation, some do not. Even the majority don't. You will say that if it is not wanted to be obvious, why is such a procedure done? The answer is simple. Everyone wants to look beautiful, but wants to be thought of as a natural beauty. In the past, a standard model was made. The fashion nowadays is to be natural looking. Individual planning is recommended. Everyone's lip structure, social position, make-up style, nose-lip relationship, expectation, chin shape are different. Therefore, the best result is obtained if a lip filling suitable for the face structure of the person is made in proportion to the other parts of the face. Of course, you shouldn't be content with just filling. Botox application, mesotherapy, skin care etc. according to the needs of the person. supported by applications.

Does lip filling cause loss of sensation in my lip?

In the past, permanent fillings occupied a space between the tissue and put pressure on the surrounding tissues. There was a possibility that it could cause sensory disorders on the lips by pressing on some sensory nerves. Hyaluronic acid-containing fillers used today have no effect on the nerves, as they are diffusely distributed instead of occupying space in the tissue. Therefore, there is no deterioration in the sensations of the lips. In addition, it does not cause mimic disorders as some patients fear.
